Please join us for our Fourth Annual Workers' Compensation Seminar. We will have eleven speakers this year, featuring orthopedic surgeons and neurosurgeons from the Tulsa community, along with two featured speakers: attorney, Bryce Hill and the Honorable Judge Michael McGivern. This course is an 8 CEU course, including 1 Ethics CEU. We look forward to seeing you there!

      • Jay Lorton, MD
      • Orthopedic Surgeon
      • Dr. Lorton joined Eastern Oklahoma Orthopedic Center in 2001. After receiving his medical degree from The University of Oklahoma College of Medicine, he went on to complete residencies in general surgery and orthopedic surgery at the same institution. Dr. Lorton then went on to complete a fellowship in sports medicine from the American Sports Medicine Institute in Birmingham, Alabama.

        In addition to his clinical and surgical duties at Eastern Oklahoma Orthopedic Center, Dr. Lorton serves as team physician for Oral Roberts University, The University of Tulsa, Northeastern State University, and Skiatook High School. Dr. Lorton also enjoys running, scuba diving, and spending time with his family.

        Dr. Lorton is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.

      • Ryan Rahhal, MD
      • Neurosurgeon
      • Dr. Rahhal was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He graduated Suma Cum Laude from the University of Oklahoma in 1999 with a B.S. in Chemistry and Biochemistry. Dr. Rahhal received his Medical Doctorate degree in 2004 from the University of Oklahoma. He completed his Neurosurgery residency in 2011 at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in Oklahoma City. Dr. Rahhal was trained in all areas of Neurosurgery with specific emphasis on spinal biomechanics, intracranial and vascual lesions.

        Dr. Rahhal began private practice in 2011 at Neurosurgery Specialists as a general neurosurgeon neurosurgeon. He provides care to patients who are experiencing problems within the spine and peripheral nerves such as carpal tunnel and ulnar nerve disorders. Dr. Rahhal's areas of special interest include vascular anomalies and complex spine disorders and spinal instrumentation.

      • Daniel Boedeker, MD
      • Neurosurgeon
      • Dr. Boedeker grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He graduated with distinction from the University of Oklahoma in 1996 with a B.S. in Zoology. Dr. Boedeker received his Medical Doctorate degree in 2000 from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He completed his Neurosurgery residency in 2006 at the Baylor College of Medicine and Affiliated Hospitals in Houston, Texas. Dr. Boedeker was trained in all areas of Neurosurgery, with specific emphasis on complex spinal disorders, brain tumors, and vascular lesions.

        Dr. Boedeker began private practice in 2006 at Neurosurgery Specialists as a general neurosurgeon. He provides care to patients who are experiencing problems within the brain, the spine, and peripheral nerves such as carpal tunnel and ulnar nerve disorders. Dr. Boedeker's areas of special interest include brain tumors; minimally invasive approach to pituitary tumors; complex spine and spinal instrumentation; aneurysm and AVM surgery; minimally invasive neuroendoscopy and stereotactic radiosurgery.

         

         

      • Tyler Boone, MD
      • Orthopedic Surgeon
      • Dr. Boone joined Eastern Oklahoma Orthopedic Center in 1994. After receiving his undergraduate education in microbiology from The University of Oklahoma, Dr. Boone went on to complete his medical degree from The University of Oklahoma College of Medicine. After a general surgery internship at The University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Medicine, he then went on to complete a residency in orthopaedic surgery from The University of Tennessee Campbell Clinic Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. Dr. Boone specialized further, completing a spine fellowship from the University at Buffalo The State University of New York, School of Medicine & Biomedical Sciences.

        In addition to his duties at Eastern Oklahoma Orthopedic Center, Dr. Boone serves as Spine Surgery Consultant for University of Tulsa, Oral Roberts University, and Northeastern State University. He is also a team physician for Charles Page High School. In his free time, Dr. Boone enjoys hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family.

        Dr. Boone is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.

      • Bryce Hill
      • Attorney
      • Born 11-18-1959 in Seminole, Oklahoma.  Graduated from New Lima High School in 1978, Attended the University of Oklahoma and graduated in 1982 with Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology.  Graduated from the University of Tulsa College of Law in 1985. 

         

        Admitted to the practice of law in the State of Oklahoma in October 1985 by the Oklahoma Supreme Court.  Licensed to practice before the Tribal Courts of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation; Cherokee Nation and Choctaw Nation, the United States District Courts for the Western, Eastern, and Northern Districts of Oklahoma, the United States Court of Appeals for the 10th Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court.  Certified as a Civil Trial Advocate by the National Board of Trial Advocacy since August 13, 1993.

         

        Initially employed as a clerk, intern, and attorney with Frasier & Frasier in Tulsa, Oklahoma for eight years.  Formed the law firm of  Hill & Knight on October 1, 1991.  Opened solo practice January 1, 2001 and continues to practice primarily workers’ compensation, personal injury and civil law. 

      • Bradford Boone, MD
      • Orthopedic Surgeon
      • Dr. Boone Joined Eastern Oklahoma Orthopedic Center in 1991. After receiving his medical degree from The University of Oklahoma College of Medicine, Dr. Boone went on to complete an internship and residency in General Surgery from the University of Tennessee Center for Health Sciences in Memphis, Tennessee. Dr. Boone then went on to a second residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at the Campbell Foundation – University of Tennessee Health Science Center. He then completed a fellowship in Sports Medicine from the American Sports Medicine Institute in Birmingham, Alabama.

        In addition to his clinical and surgical duties, Dr. Boone serves as team physician for Oral Roberts University, the University of Tulsa, Broken Arrow High School, Charles Page High School, and the Tulsa Drillers professional baseball team. Dr. Boone is also an avid hunter and fisherman.

        Dr. Boone is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.

      • Alan Lewis, MD
      • Orthopedic Surgeon
      • Dr. Lewis joined Eastern Oklahoma Orthopedic Center in 1984. Graduating from The University of Kansas School of Medicine with his medical degree, Dr. Lewis interned at Bexar County Hospital, University Health System in San Antonio, Texas. He then went on to complete his Orthopaedic Surgery residency from The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, School of Medicine. Dr. Lewis has also completed a Foot & Ankle fellowship through Roger A. Mann in Oakland, California.

        In addition to his duties at Eastern Oklahoma Orthopedic Center, Dr. Lewis serves as a Clinical Instructor, Department of Orthopedic Surgery and Rehabilitation, The University of Oklahoma – Tulsa School of Community Medicine and a Clinical Instructor at The University of Oklahoma – College of Medicine – Tulsa. Dr. Lewis is also team physician for Oral Roberts University men and women’s basketball and soccer as well as women’s volleyball.

        Dr. Lewis is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.

      • Benjamin Benner, MD
      • Neurosurgeron
      • Dr. Benner grew up in Belfast, Maine.   He graduated with distinction from Dartmouth College in 1969 with a B.A. in Psychology.   Dr. Benner received his Medical Doctorate degree in 1973 from the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.   He completed his Neurosurgery residency in 1978 from the Baylor College of Medicine and Affiliated Hospitals in Houston, Texas.

        Dr. Benner began private practice in 1978 at Neurosurgery Specialists as a general neurosurgeon.   He provides care to those patients experiencing problems with the brain, the spine, and peripheral nerves such as carpal tunnel and ulnar nerve disorders.

        Dr. Benner is board certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgeons.

      • The Honorable Michael McGivern
      • Judge
      • Michael W. McGivern is widely recognized for his expert representation of employers and

        third-party administrators in Workers' Compensation. Mr. McGivern is past Chairman and Treasurer of

        the Workers' Compensation Section of the Oklahoma Bar Association. Rated "AV" by MartindaleHubbell,

        Mr. McGivern has been a frequent lecturer at seminars for the Bar Association, private groups

        and schools on Workers' Compensation topics. In his many years of practice, he has literally handled to

        conclusion thousands of compensation claims. He also serves as a Workers' Compensation Mediator.

        Education: University ofTulsa (BS 1974; JD 1980). Admissions: admitted to the bar 1980, Oklahoma;

        also admitted before U.S. District Court; Northern District of Oklahoma. Memberships: Oklahoma

        Association of Defense Counsel; Tulsa County, Oklahoma, and the Oklahoma Bar Association. Practice

        Areas: Workers' Compensation and General Litigation. He was recently appointed by the Governor and

        is currently serving as a Workers' Compensation Judge.
